February, it's a bit cold, there may be snow on the ground, and what to do to keep kids engaged during a week off from school? The Gardner Museum, open for art-making and looking activities for families, might be just the perfect winter remedy!

The theme of the week is Royalty Discovery: royalty and nobility and the crown jewels, of course. Discover nearly life-size portraits that show royal families dressed in formal attire; women wearing puffy dresses with lace and fabulous jewelry made from gold and pearls, and men dressed in tights and clanking armor. Come to the Studio to construct your own charms, armor, and crowns inspired by the many royal portraits in the Museum's collection.

Don't forget Storytelling Wednesday, February 22 at 11:30am and 2pm. Join award winning storyteller and puppeteer Deborah Costine of Gerwick Puppets for an exciting puppet show of A Woodland Cinderella.

All activities will occur throughout the day from 11am to 4pm, so join us early or late for a few hours of winter escape!
