A native of Hibbing, Minnesota, Kellen Zakula draws from a diverse musical background including folk, indie rock, and classical idioms. In the spring of 2008, Zakula relocated to Boston, MA, where he is an active member of the city's rich musical landscape, appearing with Brittany Haas of Crooked Still, Bridget Kearney and Mike Calabrese of Lake street Dive, and Simon Chrisman of the Bee Eaters.
