From the Lower East Side To Carnegie Hall: Jewish Composers of the 20th Century-Donald Berman & Friends
March 7, 2012
American pianist Donald Berman is recognized as one of the chief exponents of new works by living composers, overlooked music by 20th century masters, and recitals that link classical and modern repertoires. His reputation as a deinitive interpreter of the American new music canon is unsurpassed. For this special, intimate presentation, he will be joined by some of the region's most respected chamber players, including Jennifer Elowitch and Gabriela Diaz, violins, Mary Ruth Ray, viola, Bill Norsworthy, clarinet, and Joshua Gordon, cello. The program will feature works by Ernst Bloch, Yehudi Wyner, Jonathan Leshnoff and Paul Shoenield.
