The mission of Longwood Symphony Orchestra, the orchestra of Boston's medical community, is to perform concerts of musical diversity and excellence, while supporting health-related nonprofit organizations. This concert benefits the Rachel Molly Markoff Foundation, which funds pediatric cancer research and assists families coping with childhood cancer.

Cellist Narek Hakhnazaryan won the Gold medal at the 2011 International Tchaikovsky Competition with his performance of Tchaikovsky’s "Rococo Variations." Guest conductor Ronny Feldman—a former Boston Symphony Orchestra cellist—joins the Longwood Symphony Orchestra as Hakhnazaryan brings his prizewinning performance to Boston audiences. Vaughan-Williams’ beloved Fantasia and Brahms’ pastoral Symphony No. 2 round out the LSO’s season finale.
