Relief Printmaking Without a Press Two-Day Workshop
March 3 - March 4, 2012
Water-based inks and polystyrene (foam) plates are a non-toxic, easy way to create unique prints without 1 press. Demostrations include making the plates, ink roll-up and application, and transferring the images to paper by hand. Layer multiple plates and experiment with the qualities of transparent and opaque inks to build complex and textured images. Workshop concludes with critique and discussion. Previous printmaking experience is helpful, but not required.
