The World Turn'd Upside Down: Music of the English Civil War

The tumultuous years of the English Civil War and Interregnum (1640-1660) produced music that resonated deeply for both commoners and nobility. Our program features music of Lawes, Locke, and Ferrabosco; selections from "The Division Violin" and "The English Dancing Master"; and our original settings of Civil War ballads, all performed on period instruments.
