This entertaining and heartbreaking tale of the people of Berlin leading up to the Third Reich won 8 Tonys in its first run and 4 in its 1987 revival. At the night club in Berlin, The Master of Ceremonies welcomes the audience to the show and assures them that, whatever their troubles, they will forget them at the Cabaret, with its starlette, Sally Bowles. Meanwhile, on the train to Berlin, Ernst, a German, surprises Cliff, a young American writer, by putting his briefcase among Cliff's luggage at the German border. History is being made. Musical numbers include It Couldn't Please Me More, Willkommen, Cabaret, Don't Tell Mama, and Two Ladies.
