The Family Folk Chorale Concert: A Celebration of New Roots Music with special guests Rani Arbo & daisy mayhem at the National Heritage Museum, Lexington, MA Bring your family and come sing with the Family Folk Chorale for a guaranteed good time on Sunday, April 1. For this exciting concert, we are delighted to welcome Rani Arbo, with her expressive alto on lead vocals, and spirited string-band “daisy mayhem”. Defying attempts at musical classification, daisy mayhem deftly mines 200 years of American music—traditional and original tunes, blues to bluegrass, soul to swing. They combine seamless four-part harmonies with superb musicianship on their respective instruments: fiddle, guitar, standup bass, banjo, ukulele, and drum kit assembled from a cardboard box, a suitcase and tin cans. This band is amazing! The 60 voices of the intergenerational Family Folk Chorale amplify the musical possibilities. Children alongside seniors, families singing together, the audience singing along—the emotion and universality of music comes to a very large canvas at a Family Folk Chorale show. We’ll have you singing and grooving along with us. For this concert, we’re taking up daisy mayhem’s tunes to highlight their beautiful harmonies, poignant optimism, and laugh-out-loud silliness. A perfect match! The charming “Big Old Life” invites a fresh, whimsical take on some age-old questions, and “Crossing the Bar” sets Tennyson’s famous, moving poem to an unforgettable melody. The “Tennessee Wig Walk” is a delightful romp that will have you up out of your seat! This concert will be BIG FUN!
