The New Boston Duo in concert
April 14, 2012
On Saturday April 14 at 7:30 PM the New Boston Duo takes the stage at the Salem Theatre Company. Recognized for the ingenuity and unique style, The New Boston Duo features violinist Elizabeth Burke and guitarist George Little, channeling jazz, rock, Celtic, and flamenco roots into their own eclectic “gypsy swing” style.
Intricate technical virtuosity acquired in their classical training couples with rich chromatic gypsy flavor allowing this ensemble to manifest balanced improvisation into a genuinely original art form. Inspired by the Latin-American music of Piazzolla and gypsy jazz compositions made famous by Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli, the Duo sets their sights on a progressive style that arranges classic gypsy swing melodies in juxtaposition with South American and Spanish influences.
Tickets for New Boston Duo are $17 in advance or $20 at the door and are available now at www.salemtheatre.com/tickets. All performances take place at the STC Theater at 90 Lafayette Street in Salem, Massachusetts.
