ECCE - Improvisations & New Electroacoustic Works

The Goethe-Institut Boston and the East Coast Contemporary Ensemble (ECCE) will partner to present an exciting evening of new electroacoustic works and live improvisations. The evening, curated by ECCE’s New Media Director, Roth Michaels, will feature new works by Eric Chasalow and Derek Hurst as well as a rarely heard work by Karlheinz Stockhausen, and live improvisations performed by Roth Michaels and pianist/composer John Aylward. Eric Chasalow’s Are You Radioactive, Pal? will be performed by ECCE’s saxophonist Mary Joy Patchett. ECCE members Mia Elezovic (piano), Rane Moore (bass clarinet) and Diamanda Dramm (violin) will present two exciting works by Derek Hurst, including the world premiere of Perigee/Apogee commissioned by ECCE. The program finishes with a rare performance of Karlheinz Stockhausen’s intriguing work, Solo for melody instrument with feedback.
