    Spring Jazz Concert

Spring is here and we’ve got a really special concert planned for Café Jazz @ TBS on Saturday, April 28th. For lack of a better description, we’re calling it a Latin Jazz Tap Dance Party with Mark Kross & Friends. Spring is here and we’ve got a really special concert planned for Café Jazz @ TBS on Saturday, April 28th. For lack of a better description, we’re calling it a Latin Jazz Tap Dance Party with Mark Kross & Friends. Mark, who’s played our beloved concert stage many times over the years, will of course be on piano and keyboards. But his special friends will bring something entirely different to Melrose. Joining Mark will be vocalist Natalia Bernal, guitarist Jason Ennis and tap dancer Max Pollak. Natalia was born in the desert of Atacama in Chile and sings a mélange of original songs along with jazz and Latin Standards in Spanish, English, and Portuguese. She’s based in New York City and has recorded and performed with artists from all over the world, including Panamanian pianist Danilo Perez, Israel "Cachao" Lopez, Ruben Blades, Paquito D'Rivera and Gloria Estefan. Jason Ennis is also based in the Big Apple and is co-leader of the Bernal/Eckroth/Ennis Trio, with Natalia. Jason’s unique sound, deep groove and sensitive feel, along with a diverse background in Jazz, Blues, Brazilian and Classical Music make him highly in demand as a soloist, sideman, bandleader and musical director. Max Pollak was named one of "25 Artists to Watch in 2007" by Dance Magazine. He is one of the most prestigious names on the international tap scene today and is recognized worldwide for his superior musicianship. Max is credited around the world as the creator of RumbaTap: a merging of Afro-Cuban music, tap dancing and body music. Café Jazz @ TBS is located at 21 East Foster Street in Melrose. Our building is wheelchair-accessible and there is plenty of parking nearby. We are also conveniently located near the MBTA Orange Line and commuter rail stations. The concert starts at 8pm, doors open at 7. Tickets to the show cost $20. Alcoholic beverages plus complimentary snacks will be available. You can buy tickets at Hourglass Gifts Gallery, 458 Main St. and The Bohemian Coffeehouse, 132 West Emerson St. in Melrose. Or you can reserve seats by email to robzrob@aol.com or phone to 781-665-3766.
