The North Slope of Beacon Hill

The story of Beacon Hill's North Slope has long been eclipsed by the famous architects and well- known history of the South Slope. Come discover the story unique to the Hill's "other" side—one of an integrated working-class community, a 19th-century free black community, resident activists and reformers, the 20th-century arrival of other immigrant populations and bohemian artists, eclectic architecture, and finally, 21st-century development.
