Three-time, Grammy-nominated NY-based jazz trombonist Conrad Herwig headlines the annual Medfield Jazz Night at the Medfield High School Lowell Mason Auditorium at 7 p.m., Wednesday, May 30, 88R South St., Medfield. Herwig is highly regarded as a jazz trombonist, composer, arranger and jazz educator. He has performed and recorded with numerous prominent jazz musicians, including Miles Davis, Eddie Palmieri, Tito Puente and Frank Sinatra. Herwig has 20 recordings to his name, including three Grammy nominations in the “Best Latin Jazz” category. Herwig joins the award-winning Medfield High School Jazz Band, which earned soloist awards in two 2012 prestigious NYC competitions: the Charles Mingus High School Competition at Manhattan School of Music, and the Essentially Ellington competition at Lincoln Center (with Wynton Marsalis). Also performing: Medfield HS Jazz Band 2 & Jazz Choir, and Blake Jazz Band.
