    About the Program:

OTP’s acting and theatrical foundation starts with the Resident Actor Program. These members, 10 women and 10 men of all ages will represent the face of OTP’s acting endeavors and support the many performance needs for OTP’s ongoing programing and marketing campaigns.

Each session is a 6-month volunteer commitment with our summer/winter season lasting from June – December 2012* . Each member will be responsible to participate in as many events as possible, though given varying casting requirements, support and alternative positions may be assigned. OTP has always striven to break boundaries and we expect our RAP to constantly support that mission.
    Monthly Commitments and Opportunities:

Playwriting Workshop : An on-going monthly workshop where Resident Actors will present a reading of a new play and moderate conversation and analysis between the actors themselves, the playwright and the audience.

Composer Soiree: A podcast produced by OTP which integrates segments featuring new works of various artistic mediums. Each month, Resident Actors will be given opportunities to participate in readings of plays, short stories, poetry, and more. Resident Actors will also provide support for any recorded advertisements for OTP and it’s partners and each member will be featured in their own “meet the artist” segment.

OTP Season Selection/Private Readings: as new plays and other production materials are collected there will be opportunities for Resident Artists to participate in readings and discussions. These sessions will help develop our season as well as allow the Resident Actors to voice their opinions for OTP’s future.

And more… as we continue to grow, the input of those we work with is vital. We want to know what our Resident Actors wants and needs are and from there, we start supporting their dreams and ours.

*During the 6 month sessions, time commitments will be based completely around the schedules of the members (so fret not, we want you to keep that day job AND do what you love)!

    Compensation/Benefits:

Though we cannot provide financial compensation to our Resident Actors for this session, individuals will be given priority consideration for all paid opportunities OTP provides this year. Aside from being those first considered for all OTP productions involving acting elements, Resident Actors will be given FEATURED ACTOR profiles on TheOpenTheatre.com, chances to publish their own blogs/articles with OTP, a “Meet the artist” exclusive interviews for The Composer Soirée, and more.
