    Gardner After Hours: Wanderlust

    Spend a summer evening at the Gardner and escape the city heat. Explore the galleries--be a world traveler here in Boston.

    Live Music | 6pm-9pm
    Accordion player Peter Bufano, founder of the group Cirkestra, will perform on the first floor of the new wing.

    Sketching in the Galleries | 6pm-9pm
    Join us for a whimsical, collaborative drawing game in the Tapestry Room.

    Studio Art Making | 7pm-9pm
    Terrariums! Take the magic of the Gardner Museum courtyard home with you in a miniature terrarium. Plants, containers, materials and instruction will be provided.

    Gallery Conversations | 6:30pm-8:30pm
    Learn how Isabella Stewart Gardner’s wanderlust and adventurous travels influenced her collection and the architecture of the historic palace.

    Out of the Archives | 6:30pm-8:30pm
    Join Museum staff for a rare opportunity to see one of Isabella Gardner’s travel journals, and an illustrated conversation about her journeys through Japan, China, Cambodia, Java, Burma and India in 1883 and 1884.

    Paid parking is available at the Museum of Fine Arts garage or lot on Museum Road, two blocks from the Gardner. Metered street parking is also available.

    Accessibility Information:

    Some doorways are only 22” wide, and navigating through the museum (including exiting and entering the elevator) requires tight turns. Please call 617 278 5156 for more information. A Braille introduction to the museum is available at the information desk. The museum offers three wheelchairs and two rollators free of charge for visitors. Please ask the front desk for assistance on arrival.
