    Mythos:Pathos (Extended)

Presented by at Arsenal Center For The Arts Charles Mosesian Theater

    August 31 - September 2, 2012

    Mythos:Pathos (Extended)

Mythos:Pathos explores lesser-known characters and under-examined storylines of Greek mythology from a contemporary viewpoint. Artistic Directors Merli V.Guerra and Kimberleigh A Holman are proud to weave the familiar myths into a cohesive saga, while coloring the production with innovative choreography. Mythos:Pathos also features unusual lighting design by Matthew Breton, that manifests in many unique ways, from wearable to handheld lighting. This new work will incorporate materials donated by the communities of Somerville and Watertown that will be used to construct installations on and offstage.

In late August, Luminarium will bring an evolved form of the project to the Arsenal Center for the Arts in Watertown, for a one-week residency. From August 31 through September 2, audiences can come view an expanded production of Mythos:Pathos, as well as explore the installations and the show’s characters with open gallery hours before each performance.

Both productions of Mythos:Pathos are supported in part by the Somerville Arts Council, and the Watertown Cultural Council, local agencies supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council.

Tickets to Luminarium’s Mythos:Pathos can be purchased at www.LuminariumDance.org/buy-tickets, or at the door. Tickets may be reserved by emailing tickets@luminariumdance.org or by calling 617-477-4494. Reserved tickets will be released to the public if not picked up 15 minutes before the show starts.
