Presented by Boston Landmarks Orchestra at DCR Hatch Shell on Boston Esplanade
August 22, 2012
The Landmarks Orchestra’s newest annual tradition features its own musicians as soloists. They are among the leading professional musicians in the city. Schumann’s Conzerstück is a one-of-a-kind virtuosic thrill-ride for four solo horns and orchestra. Haydn’s Sinfonia concertante combines virtuosity, lyricism and elegance of expression. Mendelssohn’s exuberant ‘Italian’ symphony is a musical memento of his tour to Italy and an orchestral tour-de-force.
