a little phrase of eternal song: Schumann, Hindemith, Webern, Grime, Dvorak

The master of brevity, Webern could invest a single gesture with a world of expression, and Dvorák translated fleeting thoughts and the spirit of folk music into his beloved "Dumky" trio. They say good things come in small packages, and this program proves it with miniatures that make maximum impact.

    PROGRAM:
Robert Schumann, Märchenbilder for viola & piano, Op. 113
Helen Grime, Seven Pierrot Miniatures for flute, clarinet, violin, viola, cello & piano
Paul Hindemith, Kleine Kammermusik for wind quintet, Op. 24, No. 2
Anton Webern, Three Little Pieces for cello & piano, Op. 11
Antonín Dvorák, Piano Trio No. 4 in e minor, Op. 90 "Dumky"
