Miguel was born in Los Angeles, the son of a Latino man and an African American woman. At age 5, Miguel decided he wanted to follow in the footsteps of Michael Jackson and become a dancer. Miguel continued to develop his passion for performing, and began to seriously pursue a career as a singer in his early teens. His hard work paid off and in November 2005, he signed with Jive Records and began contributing songs he wrote to other artists...
