OTP Playwriting Workshop: Is this Henry? by Howard Zilber

About the Workshop: The Open Theatre Project Playwriting Workshop is an on-going series of table readings which will further explore the artistic potential of our community while supporting our mission. We will be working on promising works in various forms of ‘playwriting’ and other literary disciplines. The workshops will be produced with the help and acting talent of our Resident Actor Program and together, many other opportunities will come from these dedicated groups. Each reading will be followed by a talk back between the actors, playwright and audience. Please come help new works comes to life and voice what you'd like to see the authors do next!

About the Play: Written by Jamaica Plain Playwright Howard Zilber, Is this Henry? Explores the barriers of love, reality, and our ability to cope with loss. Family ties and parallel worlds are exposed and a play within a play is revealed. Josh and Opal represent one side of the coin, Henry and Vanessa, another. Incest comments on marriage. Psychosis comments on neurosis. And Henry and Hamlet may also have something to say to each other.
