Travel & Taste: Maldives, Ocean Gardens
December 6, 2012
Spread over 90,000 square kilometers, the Maldives is made up of tiny coral islands formed around 26 atolls. Ninety-nine percent of the nation is ocean and, while some of the islands are inhabited, many are not. The views above include turquoise reefs, white sandy beaches and palm trees, but the views below are the most amazing! From magnificent and docile whale sharks to spectacular coral formations, over a thousand species of fish and other underwater creatures inhabit the Maldivian waters. Only a few feet above sea level, the Maldives is also at the front lines when it comes to climate change.
Location-themed dinner and lecture or lecture only. Dinner at 6:30 pm, Lecture at 7:30 pm. Pre-registration required for dinner. Online registration available.
