    Dvo?ák and the American Soul

Antonín Dvo?ák discovered America's voice in the Negro spirituals brought to him by Harry T. Burleigh, his African-American composition pupil at New York's National Conservatory of Music. NYFOS celebrates this inspiring creative exchange and its influence on the path of American music through works by Dvo?ák, Burleigh, Will Marion Cook, Alex Rogers, and James Vaughan.
