    MITHAS and Association for India’s Development Present: Pandit Birju Maharaj and company

    Pandit Birju Maharaj is internationally recognized as the greatest living exponent of North Indian Classical Dance "Kathak". The King of Kathak Dance, Pandit Birju Maharaj will perform magnificent traditional Kathak dances from Ancient to Modern, from Temples to Royal Courts, from Hindu to Muslim cultures. He will be accompanied by 3 dancers with live musical accompaniment of sitar and tabla. Spend a romantic evening with one of India's most beloved balladeers as he performs Thumri or Bhajans by unique rendering through gestures and mime.

    Association For India's Development (AID), MIT & Boston Chapters are organizing this event. AID is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization works towards promoting sustainable, equitable and just development. All proceeds go towards sustainable development projects in India.
