The Needham Bank Great Hall Concert Series resumes its 2012 schedule with the classical trio Orion on September 22, and folk legend Tom Rush on November 3. The Orion Piano Trio features Peter Zazofsky, violin, Ronald Lowry, cello, and Randall Hodgkinson, piano, as well as guest artists Lila Brown, viola and Carolyn Davis Fryer, string bass. The concert opens with Beethoven’s energetic and intense Trio in C minor, Op. 1, No. 3, a new chamber music composition by Larson, and the ever-popular and lyrically spirited 'Trout Quintet' by Schubert. In keeping with the Series’ mission, Orion will be joined by students and faculty from the Needham Public Schools for the opening from Tchaikovsky's wonderful String Serenade.
