Opening Our Doors 2012: Boston’s 11th Annual Celebration of FREE Arts and Cultural Events
Presented by Fenway Alliance at Christian Science Plaza
October 8, 2012
Prepare to stretch your imagination and allow the whole world of art, music and dance enfold you during the 11th annual Opening Our Doors celebration! Wander the galleries at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, explore the Emerald Necklace (binoculars included!), build your own kite and fly it indoors, draw and create paintings and street art, and listen to musical performances by Zili Misik, Boston Arts Academy’s Junktronic, DJ Berbere and so much more, all for FREE! The Fenway Alliance is the heart of the newly established Fenway Cultural District (Est. March, 20, 2012), and we welcome everyone to join us as we officially start the day at 10:00 AM on the Christian Science Plaza in Boston, located near the intersection of the Avenue of the Arts (Huntington Ave.) and the Avenue of Music (Mass. Ave.). Special guest speakers, performances by the Boston Children’s Chorus, and Mayor Menino will kick-off the festivities. Please invite your neighbors, friends and family to this wonder-filled and wonderfully fun event!
In the event of rain the Kick-Off celebration will move to the Sunday School Building on the Christian Science Plaza next to Horticultural Hall.
