String Masters Series presents Yizhak Schotten, viola

Israeli-born violist Yizhak Schotten was discovered and brought to the United States by the renowned violinist William Primrose. He won the prestigious Concert Artist Guild International Competition as a member of the Trio d'Accordo. Former member of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, he later became principal violist of the Cincinnati and Houston Symphony Orchestras. He and his wife, Katherine Collier, are artistic directors of the Maui Classical Music Festival in Hawaii and Strings in the Mountains in Colorado. Schotten is on the faculty of the University of Michigan School of Music and has given master classes throughout the United States and abroad. Program to include works by Bach, Schubert, Prokofiev, and Tetris. Accompanied by Katherine Collier, piano.
