MONEY MATTERS is a Youth Underground (an ensemble of Central Square Theater) play that explores different perspectives of financial responsibility and education. Developed in partnership and support by Cambridge Savings Bank, MONEY MATTERS seeks to provide an interactive way to engage intergenerational audiences in a dialogue about money and financial education. To create MONEY MATTERS, Youth Underground members and staff interviewed each other, family neighbors, community leaders, and financial experts, asking questions like, "What has been your best purchase? Do you consider yourself a saver or a spender? How is having money important for happiness?" The words experienced in the play are from REAL PEOPLE. Real People from the community. Real People ranging from ages 14-80. Real students, bankers, government leaders, teachers, parents, business owners, community workers.
