Beethoven's Second Symphony is classical enough to be a testament to his teacher, Josef Haydn, yet Romantic enough to reveal his own developing genius. Only 32 years old, Ludwig was just beginning to strech himself but also becoming more aware of his growing deafness.

It does not get any more Romantic or technically demanding for the soloist in Rachmaninoff's piece. Maxim Mogilevsky is the perfect performer for this peice requiring stamina, force, control and virtuosity.
