Acclaimed experimental filmmaker Abigail Child focuses on Deal, N.J., a long-time summer retreat for Ashkenazi Jews. But with the recent influx of wealthy Syrian Jews, this “unmelted pot” is bubbling over with discomfort about class and religion from entrenched old timers.
