MasterWork: An exhibit of Honorary Degree Recipients at The Art Institute of Boston

MasterWork is an exhibition of twenty five works in celebration of AIB’s hundredth year on view November 1 to December 16, 2012, in the AIB Main Gallery, 700 Beacon St., Boston.
Honorary degrees have been awarded to major artists over the last quarter century and represent the diversity of media taught at the college in Fine Art, Photography, Illustration, and Design. The exhibition has been assembled from galleries, museums, and collections across the United States.
Among the works selected are paintings by Louise Bourgeois, Xu Bing, Wayne Thiebaud, Jack Beal, Marc Brown, Maud Morgan and John Wilson; drawings by Edward Sorel and Roz Chast; photographs by Duane Michals, Sebastaio Salgado, Danny Lyon, Susan Meiselas, Deborah Turbeville, Gordon Parks, Gyorgy Kepes, Marie Cosindas, and Aaron Siskind; prints by Chuck Close, Michael Mazur and Leonard Baskin; sculpture by Harold Tovish; and design by Milton Glaser and Samina Quraeshi.
An Opening Reception on Thursday, November 1, 2012 from 5-7pm.
