North End Music & Performing Arts Center and the Old North Church Foundation announce their November Concert of the Winter 2012-2013 Concert Series.

Red Line Brass Quintet presents an Interactive Concert of Leonard Berstein.

 On January 18th, 1958, Leonard Bernstein’s first “Young People’s Concerts” was televised, bringing the New York Philharmonic into the living room to entertain and educate millions of American families. For fifteen years, Bernstein used his charisma and passion to bring to life the incredible vibrancy of classical music with clarity and without condescension. In doing so, Lenny became the father of musical outreach. Following in Bernstein’s footsteps, the Redline Brass Quintet re-imagines these “Young People’s Concerts” with a program of their own: Bravo Bernstein. Using Bernstein’s own compositions, including selections from West Side Story, Dance Suite for Brass Quintet, and various songs about his friend’s dogs, Redline invites the audience to explore the life and music of one of the most influential musicians of the twentieth century.
