Sandglass Theater's D-Generation: An Exaltation of Larks
November 9 - November 10, 2012
The Charlestown Working Theater presents D-Generation: An Exaltation of Larks, a performance which explores the story-telling potential of people living with dementia. Sandglass Theater has created a cast of puppet characters, all with late stage dementia, whose lives are juxtaposed with the stories they collectively create, using the process called Timeslips. The piece looks at the stigma and the acceptance, the despair and the joy that are equally present and possible in the person with dementia, their caregivers, and family members.
The company and performance recently won support from the New England Foundation for the Arts National Theater Project (NTP) promotes the development of contemporary artist-led collaborative, ensemble, and devised theater work while extending the reach and life of these projects through touring.
