Poetry Night at the Meeting House
April 25, 2013
Celebrate National Poetry Month with a fun evening of poetry reading and lively discussion honoring the many poets who have contributed to the Meeting House’s rich history and—at a time when the building’s demolition seemed imminent—its very survival. National Park Service Ranger Rob Velella will lead participants through a celebration of poets from Phillis Wheatley to Edward Everett Hale, from Henry Wadsworth Longfellow to the author of “Mary Had a Little Lamb.” Co-sponsored by Longfellow House-Washington’s Headquarters National Historic Site. This program is made possible by funding from the Lowell Institute.
