    Do the Right Thing

ArtsEmerson: The World On Stage presents: Do the Right Thing. On the hottest day of the summer in the Bedford-Stuyvesant area of Brooklyn, a series of small misunderstandings in the colorful community eventually explodes into a riot ignited by racial politics, prejudice and misinformation. With a Korean grocery store, an Italian pizza parlor and a strong African-American community as the background, the multi-faceted characters perform sometimes startling actions that calls into question what exactly the “right thing” is. Considered a masterpiece for director Spike Lee, Do the Right Thing is bolstered by the acting talents of Ruby Dee, Ossie Davis and Samuel L. Jackson, among others.
