Closing Night: Princess Directed by Arto Halonen Finland, 100 minutes This affecting period piece set in a 1950s Finnish psychiatric hospital follows a cheer- fully delusional inmate, Anna Lappalainen, who refers to herself as “Princess,” believing herself of the English royal family. Though she endears herself to patients and staff, “Princess” locks heads with her doctor, who refuses to acknowledge Princess’s “own reality.” Can “Princess” escape a dangerous lobotomy, a then cutting-edge psychiatric treatment?
