Acclaimed Bengali film-maker Satyajit Ray tells the moody story of a prosperous man whose wealth crumbles as he attempts to cling to the old way of life. His music room used to be his pride and joy—filled on a regular basis with the country’s most prized musicians providing private concerts for invited guests. Although funds are too tight to keep the music room open, the man decides to spend his last rupees hosting one last glorious concert in the hall…if nothing else, out of spite for his competitive neighbor.
