Suzuki School of Newton-February 4-Day Renaissance Camp

    “Was there music before Bach?”

Ages 6-15. CIT’s 16-17. Learning through activities based upon the Renaissance period, students will play recorder, sing, make costumes, play Renaissance ensemble music (especially great for the Suzuki students!), do calligraphy, decorate manuscripts with “illuminations” and learn Elizabethan dance all centered around the Renaissance period.  Two age groups to facilitate age appropriate activities, sometimes these groups will combine for activities. We will play fiddle tunes from Merrie Olde England as used in English country dances. Faculty includes Jay Rosenberg (guitar, recorder), Bekka Schellenberg (violin), William Schuller (dance master).
