New England Watercolor Society Members Exhibit and Sale at the Guild of Boston Artists, 162 Newbury Street, Boston, February 2 - 29, 2013 This exhibit marks a great meeting of two of Boston’s most venerable and respected artist’s organizations. The New England Watercolor Society is in its 128th year and has featured notable artists Childe Hassam, John Singer Sargent and Frank Benson among others. The Guild of Boston Artists, in the heart of Boston’s famed Newbury Street, has long been the leading institute of respected representational art and the “Boston School” painters. This exhibition will have the very best of the best in new contemporary and classic watercolors from New England artists. There will be live watercolor demonstrations by Signature Members of the Society on each Saturday from 1 – 3 pm following the opening. The February 9th featured demonstrator is Wendy Hale, February 15th is Dawn Evans Scaltreto, and February 23rd is Irena Roman, AWS. New England Watercolor Society is one of the oldest and most prestigious watercolor societies in America. NEWS was founded in 1885 as the Boston Watercolor Society.
