Patricia Zaido and John Archer, North Shore Philanthropists and Arts Advocates are teaming up with director Aimee Oliver to bring A. R. Gurney’s Love Letters to Salem Theatre Company for two performances on February 22 & 23 at 7:30 p.m. The event is a “Reader’s Theater Benefit” for the Salem Theatre Company. “This is something that John and I have wanted to do for a while now,” says Patricia Zaido, who will read the role of Melissa Gardner. “One night at a gathering, it dawned on me that we should do this. We have been great friends for a long time and we have that history and perspective. And we are happy to bring it to and hopefully raise some money for STC.”

Love Letters was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize and evolves as two characters read the notes, cards and letters sent to and from each other for almost 50 years. They discuss the hopes and ambitions, dreams and disappointments, victories and defeats that have passed between them throughout their separated lives.
