Shepley Metcalf & Ron Roy, piano
March 16, 2013
Shepley Metcalf and pianist Ron Roy put their signature spin on both standards and lesser-known gems from the '20s to '50s, presenting songs with wit-and-wisdom filled lyrics and melodies that swing. The Boston Globe describes Metcalf as "among Boston's finest interpreters of the Great American Songbook," and Edge has lauded Roy's "sizzling arrangements" and "considerable jazz chops." The duo has performed at Scullers, the Metropolitan Room (NYC), Davenport's (Chicago), and at venues around New England. Their album "Something Irresistible: Songs of Fran Landesman + Simon Wallace" earned an excellent/4-star review from Jazzwise Magazine.
