    Graceland Girls

ArtsEmerson the World on Stage presents: Graceland Girls

The Graceland Girls School in central Kenya has become a leader in education for the young women of the country. This documentary, made by recent Emerson alumna Jordan Salvatoriello, follows some of the girls who have been able to defy the average expectations by using the education they received at the school, testifying to the power of knowledge in dire circumstances and proving that education can cut through poverty and prejudice to bring about equality and respect. Told with an intimate weaving of video footage and digital photographs taken by the film team and the young women, Graceland Girls shows a generation full of beautiful, bright minds with a hope for the future.
