    Stone Carving Saturday Workshop

    One-day workshop for beginners and more experienced carvers. Hand-carving techniques and stone carving lore will be demonstrated and discussed. Use of the studio’s tools and a modest (4-8) pound piece of alabaster are included in the fee. Discussions of safe studio practices and stone and tool sourcing help make this session an excellent initiation to the craft of stone sculpture. A strong emphasis will be put on tool usage as well...

A strong emphasis will be put on tool usage as well the process of looking into the rock for imagery! Students will emerge with a stone sculpture in progress.. Group will have a short lunch and rest, accompanied by digital slide show! Ages 12+
