TIME TRAILS Gallery Exploration
March 6 - December 6, 2013
Explore the concept of time revealed in specimens specially marked with a 'time piece' located throughout the galleries of the Harvard Museum of Natural History. Find extraterrestrial rocks "as old as time"; look closer at giant clams whose shells, like tree rings, show each year's growth; or seek out fossilized dinosaur footprints crossing through a riverbed over 200 million years ago. Pick up the Time Trails map at the museum front desk, free with museum admission.
Get the free forthcoming Time Trails smartphone app to explore the Harvard campus for 40 thought-provoking objects in Time Trails at all four of the Harvard Museums of Science and Culture.
Parking/Directions: Paid parking available at the nearby 52 Oxford Street garage (see website for details). A 7-8 minute walk through historic Harvard Yard from the Harvard Square red line T stop.
