    MassArt's 24th Annual Benefit Art Auction

    Massachusetts College of Art and Design (MassArt), the nation’s only independent public college of art and design, presents its 24th Annual Benefit Art Auction. Each spring, the MassArt Auction draws a crowd of over 700 collectors and art enthusiasts seeking to view and purchase exceptional contemporary art in a festive environment.

    Massachusetts College of Art and Design (MassArt), the nation’s only independent public college of art and design, presents its 24th Annual Benefit Art Auction. Each spring, the MassArt Auction draws a crowd of over 700 collectors and art enthusiasts seeking to view and purchase exceptional contemporary art in a festive environment.

    The 2013 MassArt Auction will include over 300 works of art in live and silent auctions. Works from internationally renowned artists will be auctioned off, including Gerry Bergstein, George Condo, Bean Finneran, Robert Freeman, Alex Katz, Sol LeWitt, Ryan McGinness, William Wegman '65, Sarah Sze, Abe Morell, and Laura McPhee. Karen Keane of Skinner, Inc. will run the live auction.

    NEW for 2013! Paddle 8 and MassArt team for ONLINE AUCTION BIDDING & PREVIEW: If you are unable to attend the Auction, you may still bid on any piece in the Live or Silent Auction anywhere in the world through the online auction at www.massartauction.org. Online bidding is open from Wednesday, April 3 at 8 PM through Friday, April 12 at 5 PM, when all bids will transfer to the live event on Saturday, April 13.

    The MassArt Auction is one of the largest visual art auctions in New England. Proceeds support academic programming and student scholarships at MassArt, and a portion of the proceeds directly supports artists in the form of consignments.

    Accessibility Info:

    The Bakalar & Paine Galleries are open Monday through Saturday 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., and Wednesdays 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.; closed on Sundays. The galleries are located at 621 Huntington Avenue, in the South building near the corner of Longwood Avenue and Huntington Avenue, and are accessible on the green line E train at the Longwood/Medical Area stop or by the 39 bus.
