Writing Boston History: An Evening with Author Stephanie Schorow
Presented by Arlington Community Education
March 26, 2013
Stephanie Schorow is the author of six books on Boston, including The Boston Mob Guide: Hit Men, Hoodlums & Hideouts. A seasoned reporter, Schorow has chronicled notorious figures, sensational stories and tragic events in the city's history. Her most recent book, Drinking Boston: A History of the City and Its Spirits, takes readers on a literary pub crawl from Revolutionary watering holes to Prohibition speakeasies to today's hot craft cocktail bars. In this multi-media presentation she will share her insights into the city's colorful past and discuss tips and techniques for researching such varied topics as Georges Island, the Cocoanut Gove fire and Whitey Bulger. This evening will enthrall anyone with an interest in Boston history or in someday writing his or her own book. Presented by Arlington Community Education and co-sponsored by the Arlington Advocate and Robbins Library.
