Music Commemorating Lincoln's Gettysburg Address and Walt Whitman's Dirge for Two Veterans

Soloists Susan Consoli, soprano; Donald Wilkinson, baritone, and a full orchestra will accompany the chorus
“The works we are performing for this concert are among the most moving in the choral repertoire,” said Society conductor Jonathan Barnhart.
Vaughan Williams’ “Dona Nobis Pacem,” a plea for peace, incorporates texts from the Mass, the Bible, and the poetry of Walt Whitman.
David Diamond’s “This Sacred Ground” is a dramatic setting of Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address.
The three settings of Whitman’s “A Dirge for Two Veterans” are by Harl McDonald, Frederic Louis Ritter and Gustav Holst
