The singers are, once again, internationally renowned opera stars and highly professional local singers: Mikhail Svetlov as Aleko (La Scala, Bolshoi Theater), Pawel Izdebski as the Old Gypsy (Mr. Izdebski has been singing as a lead singer with Maestro Zubin Mehta for many years), Janna Baty as Zemfira (Boston Lyric Opera, Opera Boston), and others (see the full cast description at

The libretto itself is an exciting story about gypsies: love, betrayal, jealousy and, finally, a crime of passion.
CLT's Artistic Director, Alexander Prokhorov, and composer/arranger Moshe Shulman, have tastefully and smoothly woven into the operatic canvas traditional gypsy songs and dances.

The opera will be enhanced by the professional dance troupe’s performance of the gypsy dances.
Also, children from 6-18 years old from the “Lucky Ten” Young Talent Studio will join the theater.
Last, but not least, is the creative team led by the Artistic Director, Alexander Prokhorov, award-winning choreographer/stage director, Anna Kravets; conductor, Lidiya Yankovskaya, and Executive Director, Olga Lisovskaya.
