Baroque Treasures of Venice: Gut Reaction
April 14, 2013
Four young and dashing Baroque string players have joined with acclaimed harpsichordist Byron Schenkman, artistic director of the Seattle Baroque Orchestra, to create a lively new ensemble, Gut Reaction. With period instruments using gut strings, they bring overflowing verve and character to Venetian music of the 17th and 18th centuries, from rare gems?Biagio Marini, Legrenzi, Platti?to favorites like Vivaldi and Monteverdi. The string players are Sarah Darling, Jesse Irons, Jason Fisher, and Michael Unterman. A convivial reception follows. Spend an enchanted evening on the lagoon!
