    Visions: Tim Hetherington Exhibit Opening

Visions: Tim Hetherington is an exhibit created by The Bronx Documentary Center of photos taken during the Arab Spring in Libya just prior to Hetherington's tragic death in 2011. Hetherington was a renowned photographer who won the World Press Photo of the Year in 2007 and codirected Restrepo, a documentary about the war in Afghanistan, with Sebastian Junger. They won the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance in 2010 and were nominated for an Academy Award. Hetherington was deeply commited to humanitarian ideals and sought to show the human side of war. He was killed in Libya photographing street combat. These are some of his last photos.
