A Delicate Balance by Edward Albee
May 9 - June 1, 2013
Salem Theatre Company concludes their Tenth Anniversary Season with a production of Edward Albee’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play, A Delicate Balance. The production will be directed by STC Artistic Director, John Fogle and will run May 9 – June 1.
Hailed as one of the great American plays of the 20th Century, A Delicate Balance focuses on the carefully manicured lives of suburban socialites Agnes and Tobias and their country club existence. But when uninvited guests in the clutches of an unnamed terror invade their home, their tidy lives threaten to veer off-track and tumble into disarray. The New York Times called the play “…an evening of theatrical fireworks!”
The cast features company favorites Sarah Carlin of Beverly, Linda Goetz of Newton and STC Main Stage newcomers Lida McGirr, Sharon Mason, Jeffrey Phillips & Chuck Schwager.
A Delicate Balance is sponsored by Beverly Cooperative Bank, supported by a grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council (a state agency) and will have 15 performances over four weeks in the STC Theater at 90 Lafayette Street in Salem from May 9 – June 1. Performances are Thursday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 5:00 p.m. Tickets are $25 for Adults, $20 for Seniors and $10 for Students and are available online at www.salemtheatre.com or by calling Ovation Tix at 866-811-4111.
